Clinical Guideline and Metric Update (Winter 2012)
The first of several new clinical guidelines for 2012 have been formally approved and will become active on Jan 1. These are: (1) Skin Surveillance for Patients with Melanoma, and (2) Appropriate Spirometry Testing for Patients with New or Newly Active COPD. The metric for the first will apply to Dermatologists while the second will apply to Internists, Pulmonologists, Family Medicine Physicians and General Practitioners. The guidelines are now available on the MGO website.
Also for 2012, the age range for the existing asthma metric will be expanded from 5-50 years of age to 5-64 years of age.
